Family Farm Day

Children are given real work — collecting eggs, feeding, weeding, turning compost — because pretend jobs fool nobody, least of all a seven-year-old.

The day is structured in short bursts with plenty of running-around between, and finishes with everyone making lunch from whatever was collected.

Parents are welcome to join in or to sit in the shade with a book. Both are considered valid.
