Sustainability here is a constraint, not a campaign. You are welcome to walk into the compost yard, the reed beds and the plant room and check.
The land this estate sits on had been farmed hard for a long time and was, by any honest measure, tired. Thin soil, hedgerows cut back to nothing, a river that ran brown after every rainfall.
We only build what the landscape can carry. Every new structure is preceded by a plan for what it costs the land and how that is repaid — and the resort exists largely to make the repair economically possible.
Our figures are with independent auditors. Rather than publish numbers we cannot yet stand behind, we have left them marked as pending.

Sun to energy, rain to water, farm to food, waste to compost, compost back to the farm. Follow each step.
Regenerative Cultivation
No-dig beds, permanent ground cover and compost returned to the soil each season. We measure success by soil organic matter, not yield alone.
Closed-Loop Water
Rainwater is harvested from every roof, greywater is treated through reed beds, and the farm is irrigated from a spring we monitor continuously.
Renewable Energy
Low-profile solar arrays integrated into the roofline, paired with battery storage sized to carry the estate through the evening peak.
Waste to Compost
All organic waste — kitchen, garden and bedding — is composted on site in managed windrows and returned to the growing beds.
Passive Architecture
Thermal mass, deep shading and cross-ventilation instead of mechanical heating and cooling. The cheapest energy is what a building never needs.
Biodiversity
Hedgerows left to thicken, grazing withdrawn from the reserve, and dawn surveys run through the breeding season to track what returns.
Local Employment
The overwhelming majority of our team live in the valley. Craftspeople and growers we work with are named, long-standing partners.
Responsible Tourism
Deliberately small guest numbers, quiet hours across the reserve, and visits to local workshops arranged on their terms and paid properly.
