Overview
The Single is our smallest room, and deliberately so. It was designed around a question we kept being asked: what would it cost the land to host one person well? The answer turned out to be very little — a single volume, one wall of glass, and no space that is not used.
The room sits at garden level with its own door onto the orchard, so you can be outside without passing through anywhere else. A writing table faces the trees. The bed is a full double, in the same undyed linen as every other room on the estate.
Solo travellers, writers and anyone here for the walking tend to choose this one. It is the room we would book ourselves.
